Year 3 Visit to the Museum of Liverpool

Thursday 26th February 2026

As part of our topic work in class, we will be taking the children on an educational visit to The Museum of Liverpool on Thursday 26th February 2026.  We will be learning and exploring the city’s significance and looking at the fabulous buildings.  We will also be exploring how Liverpool became one of the world’s great ports and how this has shaped the city of today.  Whilst we are there, we will be taking part in some field work which will involve talking to, and asking questions of, members of the general public.

The children will be travelling by train from Green Lane station.  Please make sure that your child arrives at school no later than 9.00am, as we will be walking to the station to get the train.  We will be having lunch whilst we are out and will return to school by train.  We will arrive back in school before the end of the school day. Your child will need a packed lunch in a labelled plastic bag.  Please ensure all contents are disposable (no glass bottles please).  If your child is entitled to a free school meal and you would like the kitchen to prepare a packed lunch for them, please indicate this on the form on your ParentApp.

Your child should come into school in their school uniform to include sensible shoes and a coat please.

The cost of the trip is FREE.  We would like to express our thanks to Merseyrail for providing free return transport to Liverpool for all our pupils.

Thank you for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,
