Wirral MakeFest returns for its 3rd year of Innovation, Creativity & Community at Birkenhead Central Library.

The much-loved Wirral MakeFest is back for its third annual celebration of creativity, innovation, and community!  Wirral MakeFest 2025

Taking place on Saturday May 10th from 10am to 4pm at Birkenhead Central Library, this free, one-day festival invites curious minds of all ages to discover, make and be inspired and everyone is invited.

Wirral MakeFest 2025 will once again transform the library into a vibrant hub of imagination, with hands-on workshops, eye-opening demos, and engaging exhibits spanning science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM). This year’s event continues to champion sustainability as a central theme, offering something for everyone and for all ages—from tech enthusiasts and artists to crafters, scientists, and hobbyists.

What to Expect:
Interactive Workshops (drop-in and scheduled): Get hands-on with coding, 3D printing, and eco-friendly innovation.

Returning favourites include Eureka! Science + Discovery with their fun and informative “From Chew to Poo” presentation, and Port Sunlight Village Trust’s engaging SoapWorks.
Maker Exhibits: Explore a showcase of creativity, technology, and DIY culture.
Live Demos: Be amazed by demonstrations from local and UK-based makers, including virtual electronics and model making.
Creative Activities: Try your hand at Lego building, crafting, upcycling, and experimental projects.
Pop-Up Café: Enjoy delicious treats at our inclusive café in the library foyer.
Community Connections: Meet fellow makers and innovators from the Wirral and beyond.
