We looked at a tube of toothpaste to show how the oesophagus works. We then looked at a food bag filled with coke to represent a stomach with acid. We watched how the acid in the stomach churned and broke down the bread into smaller pieces. Next, we used tights to show how the intestine works. We could see how nutrients are absorbed through the walls of the small intestine and how water is absorbed through the walls of the large intestine.
The last stage of the digestive system was obvious!
